R Associates, Incorporated (RAI) is a privately-held Houston-based firm that has been focused on meeting the compute needs of the Oil & Gas, Entertainment, and University business. The company has been building High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters and the associated high-end engineering workstations for the exploration and seismic processing requirements of their clients for over thirty years. When choosing computing resources, it is important to remember the difference between a skilled integrator and a reseller. An integrator actually custom configures your system to specifications. At RAI, we are solution-focused and customer-focused, integrator
– not a distributor. RAI not only integrates hardware, but also uses open source software, customer codes, and manufacturer's utilities and API's to weld together custom HPC software stacks with leading edge, high performance commodity hardware, that are specific to a customer's HPC needs. The combination of efforts provides for a cost effective combination of hardware and software that is reliable, easy to use, and is proven. RAI is focused on minimizing risk and cost while maximizing application performance. RAI is one of the few Supermicro channel partners that has a direct relationship with Supermicro, which means RAI receives equipment from Super Micro directly and not through a distributor. Also, Super Micro has assigned a full-time, on-site resource to work directly with the RAI team in support of their clients.

Leveraging RAI's computing design, engineering, and support strengths with global partners like Supermicro, Quantum, Hitachi, EMC, Terascala, Nvida, GETAC, Infortrend, Powerware UPS and VMware, we deliver full turnkey solutions to fit our clients' exacting needs. Our direct relationships with these companies allow us to provide these solutions at the 'best' price possible and provide a turn key solution to our client.

Our 30 years of experience in mid range to HPC, oil, gas and seismic technology, rugged mobile computing and medical imaging solutions separates us from "here today, gone tomorrow" solution providers. RAI's candid collaboration, timely human interaction and a disciplined focus on support have given them consistently high marks for customer satisfaction in their HPC market.

RAI has recently expanded our large systems expertise by hiring engineers from the former Linux Networx (LNXI). They bring with them the proven experience in deploying large and complex systems at a variety of government and commercial HPC centers. These centers include the Army Research Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, ECMWF, Aeronautical Systems Command, The Boeing Company, Northrop Grumman Corporation, and ATK Corporation, among others. In fact, many of RAI team designed and commissioned the last large LNXI system delivered to the Army Research Lab (ARL) that is comparable to the scale of the envisioned TAMU configuration.
